What does it mean to have a paid “exclusive bargaining agent”?
It means the Company cannot deal with you directly regarding your individual pay, benefits, and the terms and conditions of your employment.  While employees still have the right to discuss and assert individual concerns, the union has the right to be present for those conservations, and any resolution that may be reached cannot violate the terms of the union contract.
