The union is allowed, and encouraged, to promise you anything under the sun when they are trying to convince you to sign an authorization card or vote for them in the election. Remember, nothing changes during the collective bargaining process unless both the company and the union agree at the bargaining table. The law allows the company to reject any of the union’s demands that it believes are not in the best interest of the company, our drivers, or our customers. Things could stay the same, get better, or get worse as a result of the collective bargaining process.
