The union may tell you that you will vote on your contract and that they will handle your grievances for you.  However, their constitution gives them the right to sign contracts without you voting on them.  The constitution also gives the union the right to not handle your grievance if THEY think it lacks merit.  Or, if they feel it’s not in THEIR best interest.
