Did You Know?
It can take weeks, months or even years to negotiate a first agreement with the union. In fact, according to a recent study published by Bloomberg Law in August 2022, the average time it takes to negotiate a first contract is 465 days (over 15 months). If the union wins the election at Baltimore, the company and the union will bargain in good faith for however long it takes to reach a deal. While those negotiations are taking place, the Company is required to maintain the “status quo” in Baltimore. That means your wages, benefits and working conditions will continue to be administered in the same manner as they were prior to the election until both the Company and the union agree to change them.
